New Residency: The Unemployed Architects Community
The Unemployed Architects Community provides a space for unemployed Architects to share our experience, knowledge, and resources, and find ways to help each other and ourselves. In view of the length and depth of the current economic crisis, it is critical that we develop radical new ways of working together, in order to minimise the long term impact on both the industry and individuals. The UAC are currently undertaking exciting project work involving groups of everyday people and recent graduates giving the opportunity to engage with real world architectural issues and develop their skills for industry. Through the vehicle of a counter concept proposal responding to a significant urban development currently in planning, we are taking the opportunity to explore the use of technology to create new networks and allow a wider audience to connect and contribute to the architectural process.
