New Mentor: Andrew Edward McIntyre

Andrew is highly experienced registered Architect who has worked at every architectural stage, across a very broad range of sectors. Specialising in the traditional full spectrum practice of architecture he has worked on over sixteen completed projects, running a large proportion of them on site and taking almost half of them from inception to completion as Project Architect. Andrew possesses a high level of technical, management and job running experience, complemented by highly developed design skills and natural creativity.
Having graduated from Manchester School of Architecture with a BA (Hons), and attending the Centre for Architecture at Liverpool John Moores University gaining his DipArch, Andrew embarked on his architectural career in the early 2000’s. Working initially at Wm SaundersLLP in Leeds, he gained an excellent experience in the real world practice of architecture taking projects from inception to completion and running highly complex projects on site. It was here that he also gained his RIBAPart III – Advanced Diploma in Professional Practice through the RIBANorthwest. Andrew then went on to help establish the Harrogate studio of the newly formed design consultancy Seven Architecture, and over the next two years had the opportunity to work with them to deliver a range of exceptional projects.
Andrew relocated to London in 2009 to start a new adventure, one which has involved forays into the worlds of architectural lighting, website development, fashion, and creating the foundations for a global design department. This eclectic journey combined with disenfranchisement from the architectural establishment, has ultimately lead Andrew to establishthe UAC to bring together Architects affected by these unprecedented and challenging times. He is now taking this group forward to explore new opportunities and projects and help people to remain in the industry.
Andrew’s built work ranges from the A&E Department at Leeds General Infirmary to Rochdale Sixth Form College, all the way to a helter skelter inspired tower at Redcar seafront.
